Crown Lengthening

Crown lengthening is one of the most common procedures performed on a routine basis to re-contour gum tissue and bone as per the requirement. It is performed to make more tooth structures available for placing a dental crown or bridge. In addition, crown lengthening may be required if tooth decay has occurred or damage has occurred below the gum line.

It is also an alternative treatment for improving the aesthetic appearance of the teeth by reducing the ‘gummy smile’ appearance. It happens when the gums within the mouth are too much, and the tooth structure is too little while smiling. Furthermore, it can also be performed in a single tooth by making the gum line appear even with the other teeth or on several teeth to improve the smile’s overall appearance.
